Thrice Moving Forward with Next Album

Thrice are finishing up the writing process for their next album, and have plans to enter the studio in the near future.

“We spent most of [Wednesday’s] studio session listening to the most recent round of revised of demos we have in our possession, and finding ways bring these songs to a more “finished” state,” drummer Riley Breckenridge comments. “It’s happening. We’re also getting close to nailing down a date to start recording which is (to me) equal parts inspiring and daunting. The second you have to let go of songs and commit them to tape (or ones & zeroes, depending on your recording platform) is always a source for mixed emotions. We’re all excited about stepping into that part of the process, however.”

Thrice Robbed

Thrice were recently robbed of equipment at their storage space in Southern California. Though the culprits were caught, the band is encouraging fans to be on the lookout for missing gear.

“We found our storage space dead empty, robbed and quite literally swept clean several weeks ago (no seriously, they took a broom and dust pan and swept it clean).  Luckily, the stuff we currently use the most was at the studio, but we still had a lot of stuff taken.  The culprits were actually caught and are locked up at the moment and we were able to get some smaller stuff back (mostly cases).  We fully understand that this is a complete shot in the dark, but if anyone sees our stuff being sold (or anything that might be ours) at least in the Orange/San Diego/Los Angeles counties, please do NOT contact the seller, instead, contact our management at thricebay@gmail.com and let us know.  Just some of the stuff that is still at large:

Thrice Check In with Update on Writing New Album

Thrice are currently writing material for their next album. Vocalist/guitarist Dustin Kensrue checked in with an update:

“Writing is going really well. Right now, we are basically getting into the studio 3 days a week and cranking out as many ‘jams’ as we can. We’ll take someone’s idea and start playing it together and see where it goes, and then record the result so we don’t forget. Once we get enough ‘jams’ done we’ll start fine tuning them into songs. There were even a couple ‘jams’ that happened when I was on vacation, and they were especially rad I thought. One was based on one of my demos, so it was cool to see what the 3 dudes did with a super ghetto recording of me singing and playing something into my phone. Kind of fun and healthy to hand off an idea for a second. You can get too attached and loose sight of the bigger picture sometimes. Anyway, the dudes are shredding. Everyone is playing super well and I’m mostly trying to stay out of the way and focus on melodies at this point.”
