It’s hard to believe that The Chariot played their last show a year ago. And while we love us some ’68, The Chariot will always hold a special place in our hearts. The band took the stage in November 2013 for their final show ever in their hometown of Douglasville, GA. The farewell trek leading up to that show was documented and turned into an hour long film.
Josh Scogin gave us some interesting insight on music journalism when The Chariot did an interview at Bonnerhaus a few years ago. He mentioned At The Drive-In and how when they were huge, the media only talked about their small shirts, tight jeans, and afros. “They DO write good music!” he said, adding that “You can read entire articles now a days…about all these external things, and they never mention music.”
A couple years ago when we interviewed former The Chariot frontman Josh Scogin, we asked him what he enjoyed most about being in a band. Crafting “tricks that [we’re] really proud of,” he said. Pretty good answer. And if you know anything about Scogin, you know he’s got plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
When The Chariot came over to our Haus for an interview in 2011 we were listening to At The Drive-In’s Acrobatic Tenement when they walked in. Josh Scogin immediately stopped and asked, “Is this At The Drive-In?”
