When we interviewed Omar Rodriguez-Lopez a couple years ago he mentioned how he needed some space away from The Mars Volta. After some time apart, he and TMV vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala are back with a new project — it’s called Antemasque.
A couple months ago we mentioned how ex-The Mars Volta’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante have a new band called Kimono Kult. The group, fronted by Le Butcherettes/Bosnian Rainbows frontwoman Teri Gender Bender put out their debut EP today — it’s called “Hiding in the Light.”
When we did that interview with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, it was right around the time Bosnian Rainbows started going full force.
Zavalaz, featuring former The Mars Volta singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala, will join Red Hot Chili Peppers on a pair of Alaska shows next month.
