Early last year Tomahawk put out their first album in six years called Oddfellows. The band, featuring Mike Patton (Faith No More), Trevor Dunn (Melvins, Mr. Bungle), Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard), and John Stanier (Battles, Helmet), had a couple extra tracks left over from their recording sessions. Mike Patton will release a performance of Laborintus II, a 1965 composition done by Italian composer Luciano Berio, on July 3rd via Ipecac.
A modern concert chamber opera mixing a range of styles to 60’s European jazz, Laborintus II was performed by Patton at Holland Festival in June 2010 in Amsterdam.
