Scale The Summit’s Chris Letchford is Releasing His Solo Album “Lightbox” in July

by | Jun 2, 2014

Scale The Summit guitarist Chris Letchford told us all about touring with Dream Theater when we interviewed him in 2011. He said touring with the band opened every door for Scale The Summit, and still does. “A person will listen to our music and [tell a friend] ‘hey, check this band out.’ They toured with Dream Theater.” And they will, just because of that.

One of the interesting things Letchford commented on was how the music world is evolving. “Overall the music industry is changing because people are wanting more in their music, not just the same old crap.”

Lucky for you, Letchford isn’t putting out the same old crap with his new jazz-inspired solo offering, Lightbox. It’s been in the works for a while and the guitar wizard will finally be releasing his solo record this summer, which will feature guest appearances by bassist Evan Brewer (The Faceless) and members from The Reign of Kindo.

Looks like a busy summer. Especially since Scale The Summit and Glass Cloud will co-headline a North American tour with Erra, Reflections, and Monuments.

Lightbox comes out July 15th.

Here’s some live footage of Scale The Summit at The Olive Tree at The Note in West Chester, PA from late last year.

Update: And a new song called “The Star Boys”…
