This is some heavy shit. We’ve been talking about Sumac since their formation earlier this year, and the band is gearing up to release their debut album The Deal. The group features former Isis vocalist/guitarist Aaron Turner, Baptists drummer Nick Yacyshyn, and (sometimes) Brian Cook of Russian Circles.

They played their first show a couple weeks ago in Vancouver, BC, opening for Deafheaven. And now we’ve got a new track from them called “Thorn in the Lion’s Paw.”

The Deal comes out on February 3rd via Profound Lore.
