Between The Buried and Me to Film a DVD & Begin Writing their Next Album This Summer

by | Feb 13, 2014

When we sat down with Between The Buried And Me bassist Dan Briggs at a Thai restaurant a few years ago, he told us about his DIY roots in Erie, PA and why his side-band Orbs was so special to him. “We really have a chance to do things more DIY and hands-on…all kinds of stuff I haven’t been able to do the past five and a half years.”

It seems like Briggs will be able to get DIY and hands-on again this summer. According to this site, the new Orbs record is expected to be released around that time. And if that’s not enough for ya, Briggs’ other band Trioscapes finished writing their next record and will be entering the studio in April.

Oh, and did we mention that BTBAM will be filming a DVD of very intimate studio performance of The Parallax II with an auxiliary of musicians. “Percussionists, saxophone, flute, string quartet, all kinds of stuff… to really bring the album to life.”

And for the cherry on top, BTBAM will begin writing a new album later this summer.

(phew, that’s a lot)

We’ll keep you in the loop.

Zechs Marquise: The Ryan’s Rock Show Interview

Back when I was a wee lad, 15 or so, At The Drive-In was by far my favorite band ever. Even today their music is on my top all-time list of kick ass bands next to groups like Fugazi and Faith No More. I remember in my pubescent years always thinking, whoever got to...
