BAD BRAINS Nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

by | Oct 18, 2016

You never know what to expect from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, especially when it comes to their nominees. But this year they made a wise choice: Bad Brains. They’ve been nominated for the 2017 induction class.

Bad Brains are among 19 nominees to be considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. Other nominees include Jane’s Addiction, Kraftwerk, and Tupac Shakur.

What are the odds of the band actually getting inducted? Well… probably not very high, but we have our fingers crossed.

How voting works is like this. Ballots get sent to an international body of 800+ artists, historians, and music industry people who narrow the list down to five. It’s based on criteria such as the artist’s influence, length and depth of career, overall body of work, and so on. Generally speaking, those who fit the standard definition of “rock” have a higher chance of getting in than any outliers.

The final list will be announced in December.

And just because, here’s a stream of Bad Brains’ 1983 album Rock For Light.
