At Least Three Killed, 70 Injured at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival

The Associated Press is reporting that at least three people have been killed and more than 70 injured after a storm swept through eastern Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival today.

Heavy winds, rain, and hailstones nearly half an inch reportedly caused concert structures to buckle, including a stage collapse, during the three-day event, which started today with an estimated 60,000 concertgoers.

Acts such as Rise Against, Rival Schools, Skrillex, and Bring Me The Horizon were set to perform at the festival.

This has been the second deadly incident at an outdoor festival in the past week. Parts of a stage collapsed on Saturday at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, killing five people and injuring dozens when winds of up to 60 miles per hour hit the site.
