Details for Queens of the Stone Age’s album Villains + new song & tour dates

by | Jun 15, 2017

Yesterday we posted about their new album, and today we’ve got all the details for Queens of the Stone Age’s seventh studio record Villains. Oh yeah… and a new song, plus tour dates.

A follow up to the band’s 2013 effort …Like Clockwork, Villains will be released on August 25th through Matador Records.

Joshua Homme commented,

Villains isn’t a political statement. It has nothing to do with Trump or any of that shit. It’s simply 1) a word that looks fantastic and 2) a comment on the three versions of every scenario: yours, mine and what actually happened… Everyone needs someone or something to rail against—their villain — same as it ever was. You can’t control that. The only thing you can really control is when you let go.”

The album was produced by Mark Ronson (Adele, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga), co-produced by Mark Rankin, and mixed by Alan Moulder. It features 9 tracks, including the new single “The Way You Used to Do” which you can hear below.

Want to see the band live this summer? Well they’re making appearances at Canada’s Montebello Rockfest (June 22-25),  Chicago’s Riot Fest (Sept. 11-13) and Outside Lands festival in San Francisco (Aug. 11-13). And this fall they’ll be embarking on a North American tour to support the record.

Here’s a stream of “The Way You Used to Do.”

Once again, Villains drops on August 25th.
