1-900-USA, The Blood Brothers to Play a Hometown Show in Seattle, Baby

by | Jun 4, 2014

We always hear about young bands whose primary goal is to get signed, as if that’s the only reason why they write music. When we interviewed The Blood Brothers co-vocalist Jordan Blilie, we asked him his opinion on starry-eyed bands with a desire to put their John Hancocks on the dotted line.

“I know when we’d be doing tours with The Blood Brothers and I’d be talking to some kids after or before the show, kids [would ask] ‘how did you get signed?’ — I would think to myself, why is that even something that you want to know, or explore?”

Maybe this DIY attitude is the reason why The Blood Brothers have been able to craft timeless music. It’s been almost eight years since the release of their last album Young Machetes, and you can still feel its presence in the bloodstream of today’s scene.

Aren’t you excited about their upcoming reunion shows at FYF Fest in LA and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin? Looks like they’ll be kicking off their reunion run with a hometown show in Seattle first, playing The Showbox’s 75th anniversary show on August 22nd.

Like we said before, we imagine a few more shows will slip out. In the meantime, here’s Young Machetes in full.
