BARROWS Perform at Bonnerhaus

by | Mar 15, 2013

When Los Angeles-based instrumental band Barrows came over to Bonnerhaus to play an intimate house show last month, we were completely blown away by their performance.

Along the lines of bands like Russian Circles and Red Sparowes, LA’s diamond in the rough is dreamy and elusive, and they’re winning the game purely through craftsmanship. In April they’ll be entering the studio with Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Tool) to record their next album, a follow-up to 2011’s debut record Imprecari Island.

“With the new record, all the writing came out quickly and naturally,” guitarist Jim Leonard commented.

Drummer Richy Epolito said the new record is more rhythmically based and “has a lot more space in it.”

Below is a video of the band performing their track “Wrath of the Sea,” taken from Imprecari Island, which can be streamed in its entirety here.
