Rex Brown Quits Down

by | Jun 27, 2011

Rex Brown confirmed his departure from Down.

“I’m officially out of the band,” Brown told 8countnews.com. “Things came to a head and they’re better off doing what they’re doing,” adding that “I kind of lost my passion after a while. There were some other problems that we had to address and it just turned out better that we just parted ways.”

Pat Bruders of Crowbar will replace Brown on bass duties.

Brown will focus on a new project, Kill Devil Hill, featuring drummer Vinny Appice (Heaven & Hell, Black Sabbath), guitarist Mark Zavon (Ratt, W.A.S.P.), and vocalist Dewey Bragg. The group’s debut album is expected out later in the year.
